We are excited to welcome you to Woodlands Ballet Theatre. I am the owner, Meredith French. I am blessed to have the most amazing family to take this journey with me. My husband Matt is my strength and grounding force. Whitten is 11 and loves reading, coding, acting, and of course video games. Linley is 5 and she loves all things ballet, princesses, art, and music. They are my tribe and my heart and soul.

My dance journey began in tap and ballet at the age of 2. I quickly discovered that I had a passion for ballet. I trained until the age of 9 and then due to frequent moves and new interests, I decided to leave dance...something I regret. In college, I rediscovered my love of dance
and took classes in modern and ballroom.

When Linley was old enough, I enrolled her in Karyn Simon-Poland’s Woodlands Civic Ballet in 2018 and absolutely fell in love with the family-feel of the studio and the focus on classical ballet. Linley was thrilled to be able to perform in Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake. I was heart-broken when the Poland family announced their retirement. After much careful thought and consideration, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion of dance and build a studio where students could receive the highest quality instruction in a positive and caring environment.  I was incredibly blessed that many of the intructors and families from Woodlands Civic Ballet have joined me
and Woodlands Ballet Theatre was created.

My vision for Woodlands Ballet Theatre is to provide quality training in not only classical ballet, but jazz, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, and more. First and foremost, I want it to be a supportive environment where families can come and explore the arts.

The instructors of Woodlands Ballet Theatre and I are thrilled to welcome you
to our studio and dance family!
